Diane Grant, Colour Complements threadsIntroducing “AUTUMN FRUITS“.  Those of you who do NEEDLEPOINT will more than likely be familiar with the publication, Needlepoint Now. Last fall I received my September/October 2017 issue and a project entitled “Autumn Fruits” by designer Diane Grant caught my attention. When I completed my summer collection of new colour combinations, I thought this would be a great project to showcase Colour #44 which is a blend of blue, golden brown/yellow and bold glorious magenta with tiny hints of green. Due to time constraints I was not able to stitch this project myself but am so thankful Dominique was able to stitch it for us and what a fabulous job she has done.

The project measures 10 ½ x 10 ½” on 18 count canvas. You can find the pattern in the September/October 2017 issue of Needlepoint Now on page 33 or you can purchase the pattern directly from Diane in her etsy shop HERE.

I chose Colour #44 as the focus colour for this palette and I have added three values of green (dark, medium and light), Colour #166 (magenta/purple), a solid dark fuchsia, Kreinik braid in a turquoise and Kreinik Ribbon in a blue/turquoise. Colour #43 was chosen to frame the project.

Diane had designed the center of the project using a crystal but Dominique has replaced this with a Circular Rhodes.

I am offering a custom thread kit for this project just in case you might like to stitch it in this colour palette. It includes

Perle Cotton size 5 Colour #44 = 4 skeins (80 meters)
Perle Cotton Size 5 Colour #43 = 1 skein (20 meters)
Perle Cotton Size 5 Dark Pink = 1 skein (20 meters)
Kreinik Size 8 Braid Colour #10 turquoise = 1 skein (40 meters)
Kreinik 1/16” Ribbon Colour #11 turquoise = 2 skeins (20 meters)

Perle Cotton Size 5 Dark Green = 1 skein (40 meters)
