On a recent trip to the garden center I saw a lot of pink plants so it seems a good time to share this pink heart.
The Hearts for Hospice project was initiated in 2015 by the Greater Kansas City Needlepoint Guild. You can read more about it by visiting their website.
Last year my local canvas work group started stitching hearts. In time, these will either be sent to Kansas OR to one of our local hospices. The hearts have provided a good shape to experiment with a variety of stitches, colours and threads. Although we haven’t been able to get together of late due to social distancing restrictions, the ladies have been sending me photos of current hearts.
If you have been following my previous posts then I think you will see some similarities in sections of this heart. Dominique made this up so there is no specific pattern. Some of the stitches she has used are byzantine, slanted gobelin, mosaic and some couching. She used some of Colour #41 which is variations of pinks as shown in the photo.
Remember, if you search in the right sidebar of this blog under categories – hearts for hospice you will find more posts and ideas. Hopefully, these posts will provide inspiration.
AND, as always, experiment with colour. You never know what you may come up with.
Thank you D.
