I know it is fall now but thought it might brighten your day with a spring needlepoint sample. Having said this, I could certainly see experimenting with some fall colours for this. Perhaps experiment with Colour #56 and combine it with teal or golden brown!
Needlepoint Now is a magazine published six times annually offering needlepoint designs, innovative techniques and reviews of accessories and books. I have subscribed for a number of years and always look forward to each edition.
Especially enjoyable are the counted canvas designs. So, you can imagine my delight to find Phoenix Panel designed by Diane Grant in the July/August 2015 issue of Needlepoint Now. It is gorgeous.
The entire design is much larger than the sample above which is the center only. Susan stitched this using the following colours
Colour Complements Colour #41 – variations of pinks
Colour Complements #138 – soft green, turquoise and pink
Colour Complements Colour #18 – greens
Kreinik 1/16” ribbon – purple
Naturally you could change the purple metallic to perhaps a darker pink or even a turquoise. It would be fun to experiment with this.
