Autumn Logs Thread Kit
The pattern is designed by NeedleDelights Originals and this is the fourth design in her seasonal log series.
I purchased this pattern several years ago to add to my stash. I knew when I saw it that I wanted to stitch it with a fall palette of colours as it was designed. Having said this, I think it could look really lovely stitched in a summer or spring palette as well. I just may have to give this a go.
Once my fall collection was complete, I put together what I felt would be a variety of colours that would work for the design. Dominique was kind enough to stitch this. She is amazing as it was finished within two weeks!
The design measures 9 ½ inches square on 18 count canvas. The custom dyed kit contains 14 skeins of size 5 perle cotton in 13 different colour combinations. All of the colours from my new fall collection are included in the kit as well as many from my regular collection of colours. Dominique opted to do a very different border for the design as it is originally stitched as a solid. This came about when she was waiting for another skein of Colour #57 (rich browns) so she started experimenting and added two other colours to create a striped appearance. She decided to add a fourth colour for 4 strips in the middle of each side.
Some of you may prefer to go with a more solid border hence there are two skeins of Colour #57 included in the kit. I like options as you can add your own creativity!
This is a LIMITED EDITION KIT so please shop early to avoid disappointment. The pattern and 18 count mono canvas are not included in the kit. These can be purchased through your local needlework shop or online. The pattern is available on Kathy’s website at NeedleDelights. You may like to check out some of her other patterns while you visit her site as there are so many options.
A colour conversion will be sent in PDF format via email once your order has been received.
I absolutely LOVE creating new colour palettes so hope you enjoy this one.
Look forward to more coming next year if not sooner. Thank you so much Dominique!
