Today I am showing two areas of Block #8 in my current CRAZY QUILTING project – Black Butterflies. If you are interested in viewing other posts pertaining to this project check in the right sidebar under Categories – “Black Butterflies”.
By now, I think most of you will recognize that I like butterflies and generally add these to ALL of my crazy quilts. I added this hand dyed lace applique butterfly here accented with beads. Under this is a lace trim highlighted with Kreinik 1/16” ribbon. Below the trim I traced half circles which are stitched using stem stitch in silk perle. The center are circular buttons with the addition of detached chain stitches in Kreinik #8 braid.
Below is a second section where I used a thrift shop crocheted doily. I added cheater roses and French knots to accent. 
I am over halfway complete on this project – I can hardly wait to see how it turns out!! The finale of Block #8 is coming up….
