Today we are featuring the second sample of Prime Examples, which was created, using a variation of the Fall colour palette that we had used in the first project.
If you recall in our last post, we talked about there being two patterns in Prime Examples. You will find both patterns in the September/October 2021 issue of Needlepoint Now.
After Dominique stitched the first sample, she phoned me to discuss colour options.
She felt there was insufficient contrast between the colours I had chosen to showcase the design. So, after some discussion, we decided that she would add a variety of threads of her choice for the second sample. In this case, she used another variation of Fall colours while also picking a few cool and neutral tones to break up the warmth of the shades.
The sample above is the result. Again, it measures a little over 3 inches on 18 count mono canvas. She added a border of her choice and not the border published in the design.
I adore how this turned out! It is so colourful and I think could make a great foundation for a colour palette in a future larger project.
