Today’s video highlights a beautiful blue stitch sample, featuring Colour #14 from my Colour Complements collection.
I refer to Colour #14 as my ocean blend since it was inspired by a view I had for many years of the ocean. Being located on the coast, we don’t often get that light blue water that you might see in tropical destinations, but the deep hues are just as beautiful!
Naturally, Colour #14 echoes more of the colours you would see around the Pacific Ocean – it is a blend of blues and greens in various values.
How does this blue stitch sample look stitched?
In the video, I am stitching a linked stitch on 18-count mono canvas using a size 5 Perle cotton.
I like to show my colour combinations stitched in a sample to give you a “visual” of the colour blend.
For reference, you will find the stitch in the Stitches Book Volume One by Ruth Schmuff and Kathy Holicky. These books are ones that I like to use for my stitch samples as the diagrams are very easy to follow.
I hope you enjoy the video and please visit the shop to enjoy more colour variations. Colour #14 would work well in cross-stitch, needlepoint and wool applique.
