Today, my stitch sample video features Colour #175 which is a beautiful blend and shades of light blue.

This is a great blending blue as it combines well with other blues in my product line, such as Colour #28. However, it also contrasts well with warm colours, like Colour #66. This is a completely different tone altogether, incorporating a blend of orange.

Don’t forget that if you enter #175 in the search bar on my website (very top right side) a list of the product along with various samples will pop up.

I also recently featured both Colour #175 and Colour #66 in my version of Wintergreen, one of three designs called Courtly Checks. You will find the pattern in the July/August issue of Needlepoint Now.

A Closer Look At This Light Blue Colour Feature

The video you see features a Diagonal Long Stitch – Vertical Stripe stitched on 18-count canvas using a size 5 Perle cotton.

I chose to stitch the pattern with two different size stitches demonstrating a striped effect. For reference, you will find the stitch in the Stitches Book Volume One by Ruth Schmuff and Kathy Holicky. These books are some of my favourites to use for my stitch samples as the diagrams are very easy to follow.

While I stitch these samples for my personal stitch library, my hope is that they will allow you to “see” how the colour combinations appear when stitched. I am working at stitching a video for ALL of my colour combinations but I’m not there yet!

I hope you enjoy the video and make sure you visit the shop to see Colour #175. I think it will work beautifully in one of your future needlework projects. AND, it is a great colour blend for those of you who do cross stitch.
