a-little-summer-fun

Perhaps I should have titled this post a little spring fun versus a little summer fun since I am featuring a spring palette of colours.  Having said this, I think the colours could work for any summer project as well!

A little summer fun is designed by the talented Laura Perin.  The sample measures about 3 ½ inches on 18 count canvas so a great size for an ornament.  Laura offers this pattern as well as a variety of others complimentary on her website HERE.  She also offers a variety of beautiful larger designs for purchase.  Make sure you check out both her blog and website.

The sample above has been stitched with three of my spring collection colours in a size 5 perle cotton

  • Colour 70
  • Colour 72
  • Colour 73

DMC colour 453 (tan) has been added and a metallic in a rose shade.  The border is a solid rose shade of perle cotton.

I can see alternating the colours above perhaps using colour 73 (turquoise/aqua) in the middle and surrounding this with the other two colours.  OR, what about colour #70 in the middle and surrounding this with solids. Lots of choices.
