Last week I posted the first of my Crystal Waters posts showcasing my new spring collection of colours.
If you recall, the ladies who stitch up my samples chose one pattern. I requested each stitcher use the same colour combination but placed in different locations in the design. By doing this it really shows how much a pattern can change depending on the placement of colours. They can all look quite different!
The pattern chosen is Crystal Waters designed by Canadian designer Carolyn Mitchell. This pattern is a collection of seven smaller designs. We selected the scissor fob in the ensemble but added borders to increase the size to approximately three inches.
Karen stitched the scissor fob with a minimum of borders so it is only about 2.5 inches square. She did this as her plan is to create a smaller double sided ornament. I’ll be showing the back side on Wednesday.
Karen used all the new spring collection colours
This sample shows more of Colour #60 which is a variegated blend of pale blue/gray, yellow and tan. You can see this used in cotton floss and size 5 perle cotton. Karen stitched an outer border in Colour #62 with a very simple but effective backstitch.
