Lavender Lace is a new colour combination of our original Autumn Fire.  A small ornament stitched on 18 count mono canvas measuring about 2 ½ inches square.  It is a perfect quick and simple design to stitch.  If you wish add a border of your choice to increase the size.

Perle Cotton is a mercerized, twisted, non-divisible cotton thread.  Size 5 is the heaviest, size 8 is a medium weight and size 12 is fine – comparable to 2 strands of floss.

Cotton Embroidery Floss is a divisible thread consisting of 6 strands.  Can be used in single or multiple strands.

Courtly Checks are three ornaments featured in the July/August 2021 issue of Needlepoint Now designed by Kam Wenzloff.  All three were stitched with Colour Complements threads.

Plum Sparkle was the first of the three ornaments Kam designed followed by Wintergreen and Merry & Bright.  The black and white checks add interest to each of these unique designs.

A little about Cleopatra’s Heart
The design was inspired by Egypt and Cleopatra. The first band is an interpretation of the landscape of Egypt and the first row you stitch is meant to represent the Nile river which is truly the heart of Egypt, the rows on either side are for the land, the desert, and the third partial row, the vegetation. Below the diagonal mosaic band, is the row I called the Eyes of Ra, for the blue of the sky and the gold of the sun. Above the first band, is a series of Sprats Head triangles, or pyramids, representing the valley of the Kings. In the upper right is the motif representing Bastet, the cat headed goddess, and the daughter of Ra. All these are the main elements of the design, the rest are just for fun!
