CROSS STITCH, Colour Complements Threads I am delighted to share some beautiful CROSS STITCH today. I have done some cross stitch in the past but these days my time is spent either crazy quilting, needlepoint or dyeing threads.  Since I introduced my cotton floss, it has become very popular but interestingly, I do not receive a lot of samples of cross stitch so naturally I was delighted when this arrived in my mailbox.  Ruta is one of my customers in Denmark and obviously an experienced cross stitcher.

The pattern is Mother of Maya designed by Tracy Horner of Ink Circles. It is stitched on 32 count Murano even weave in an oatmeal colour.  The design measures 11 ¾” wide x 14” in height.  Ruta used Colour #188 in 6 strand cotton floss for this project.

Mother Maya is a sampling of motifs in the ancient Mexican styles.  Some are based on historic carvings, others were created from Tracy’s imagination.

I think it turned out beautiful.  Thank you Ruta for not only purchasing my floss but sharing this lovely project.

You can read more about Tracy on her website HERE and you can pick up the pattern HERE.
