18th CENTURY SAMPLERThis is Linda’s 18th CENTURY SAMPLER project.

The 18th CENTURY SAMPLER is an online workshop designed and offered through Susan of SJ-Designs.  She writes “it was inspired by lace samplers dating from the mid 1700’s.  Counted canvas techniques will imitate the look of handmade lace, created with basic stitches and accented with needleweaving, hemstitching, pattern darning, Hardanger and pulled thread.  Stitched on either 18 count mono canvas or 24 count congress cloth.”

Linda has kindly shared her sampler above stitched using my Colour #129 on a gray 24 count congress cloth background.  She tells me the gray has a slight purple undertone so this enhances Colour #129 which is a subtle blue/gray and light lavender combination.

Thank you very much Linda for sharing this and I look forward to seeing future progress.  You can find out more about this project on Susan’s website at SJ-Designs.  I believe she is offering this sampler once again with registration currently open.  You can find out more about it on the Facebook group.
