KREINIK RIBBON hand dyedI promised that I would show you some examples of how I used my new KREINIK RIBBON.

I came across a lovely project in the March/April issue of Needlepoint Now entitled “It’s a Mystery” on page 13. The article is by Patricia Hartman, Mary Knapp, Linda Reinmiller, Debbie Rowley.  I created my small stitch sample from the center of this project.  I used Colour #3 in my Kreinik Ribbon for the center Rhodes stitch and the four corners.  Although I used only a very small amount of the ribbon, I do think it enhances the sample.

I also used Colour #182 in a size 5 perle cotton for the crescent and Colour #4 in a size 5 perle for the longarm crosses.  I used Colour #147 in a size 5 perle for the diagonal border and backstitch around the Rhodes.

This colour combination definitely reminds me of spring and summer!  Interestingly, I find that many are not particularly fond of orange and yet I really like how it turned out here.  Maybe it is time to give some orange a try! Have a great weekend.
