NEEDLEPOINT CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT

Day 5 in my Colourful Christmas series!  Yes, those needlepoint stitch samples just keep popping up don’t they!?  Today, a NEEDLEPOINT CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT, actually TWO!

I wrote about the turquoise/blue needlepoint stitch sample here.

I stitched the red and green sample late last year and I have not posted it previously.  Carolyn Mitchell is a well known Canadian canvas work designer and she very kindly created a Christmas ornament called “Alpine Summer” using my threads last Christmas.  You can read the post here.  Carolyn used colour #120 for this so I thought it would be good to show a different more Christmas version in traditional green and red.  Thank you Carolyn!

These ornaments were very kindly finished by Carol GP in Nanaimo (on Vancouver Island) who offers finishing services.  Carol used some of Carolyn Mitchell’s binding techniques.  I just love her addition of beads – don’t you!?  And those lovely tassels.  Thank you Carol!

So, some more ideas for the Christmas tree!  Mine is going to look very lovely with the addition of several NEW ornaments this year!
