crazy quilting, hand dyed embroidery threadMore of my crazy quilting today.  I am progressing on this project all be it slower than expected.  This is an area of my crazy quilt block that had several small seams so I decided to stitch a seam treatment that covered various seams versus just following one.  I’ve used hand dyed floss for both the stem stitch and detached chain for my vine.  I used hand dyed lace for the bottom seam treatment which is couched in place and further embellished lightly with a French knot using perle cotton.  A lace applique butterfly is peeking out at the top which I’ll share in more detail in another post.

I’ve noticed in the past months that several new customers have commented they are transitioning from quilting to crazy quilting and embroidery.  As I’ve mentioned previously, crazy quilting offers so many opportunities to experiment with various embroidery techniques.  In fact, my woollies group has recently started using laces and trims for embellishment – so fun to see 🙂  Have a great weekend.
