wool applique, Sue SpargoMore wool applique today!  Prior to my summer blog break I had been showing Uschi’s Sue Spargo Leaf Sampler! Well, another selection to share today.  If you remember Uschi is co-owner of Wool Penny Rugs and she worked on this project earlier this year using many of my threads.  She is very creative with her stitches.  Lovely bullions in the bottom left highlighted with pistil stitches and further accented with the addition of mother of pearl square buttons.  A lovely chain border and a row of fly stitches.  The bullion flower in the top center leaf accented with a lady bug – just fabulous!  You can create lots of lovely accents using ric rack – a very simple example on the top left.  I think there is a coral stitch border on one and I’m not sure of the border on the lower left.  Seed stitches add lovely accents too and they are so simple.

I have a couple more examples of Uschi’s wool applique coming up and then the final reveal!!!
