hand dyed threads, Colour ComplementsI’ve had a very busy summer both in the dye studio and getting a variety of projects either started or finished.  Am starting today with introducing some new thread colours.  For those of you that receive my newsletter I mentioned about a month ago that I would be discontinuing my rayon thread BUT I changed my mind and have dyed up some more new colours.  Many of the colours are more monochromatic which I think will provide better blending for many.  This is Edmar “Lola” which is comparable to between a size 8 and 5 perle cotton.  It looks fabulous in wool applique as the contrast of lustre against the wool background is beautiful.  I use it for crazy quilting and my canvas work.  Price has been reduced for my rayon.

I have also added many new sparkle chainette colours.  This particular shipment of sparkle chainette is a looser weave than my previous stock.  It is great for couching, crazy quilting and wool applique.  It works well on larger mesh canvas (10-14).  I use it on 18 count with some fraying.  To minimize this ensure you use a shorter length, not more than 12 inches.  You can find all the sparkle chainettes in the shop and an added bonus is the price has been reduced.

I’ve also added a couple of warmer coloured thread samplers too.  AND for those of you who may have missed it last month, I still have a few Sue Spargo “Chicks” thread embellishment kits remaining offering a very good variety of threads, not all of which I stock in the shop.

Over the coming weeks I will be introducing my new fall colours which I’m delighted with (hope you will be too).  I also have some new projects coming AND some surprises too.  Fall is my favourite time of year, warm days, cool nights and lovely COLOURS!!  For my new visitors, please remember to sign up for my Colour Complements newsletter!
