needlepoint, hand dyed perle cottonA short time ago I received a lovely email from Denise.  She works on painted needlepoint canvases (and also teaches).  Interestingly, I know a number of my customers use my threads on painted needlepoint canvases but very few have shared photos to date so I was really delighted to receive these.

This is a Brenda Stofft canvas (18 count).  Denise is working on a sheep and in specific a garland around the sheep’s neck.  Look at all those French knots – great texture!  I’ve included some close-ups so you can really see them.  Don’t you love the stumpwork leaves and roses!!!  Denise has used colour #169 in a size 8 perle cotton for some of those French knots.

needlepoint, hand dyed perle cottonThese are some close-ups to give you an idea of the textures in this project.  She has started the sky with a size 5 perle cotton, colour #162.  The flowers in the grass on the right are stitched using colour #182 in a size 5 perle cotton.  I absolutely love how this is coming together.  Thank you Denise for sharing your exquisite work!
