A short time ago I received a lovely email from Denise. She works on painted needlepoint canvases (and also teaches). Interestingly, I know a number of my customers use my threads on painted needlepoint canvases but very few have shared photos to date so I was really delighted to receive these.
This is a Brenda Stofft canvas (18 count). Denise is working on a sheep and in specific a garland around the sheep’s neck. Look at all those French knots – great texture! I’ve included some close-ups so you can really see them. Don’t you love the stumpwork leaves and roses!!! Denise has used colour #169 in a size 8 perle cotton for some of those French knots.
These are some close-ups to give you an idea of the textures in this project. She has started the sky with a size 5 perle cotton, colour #162. The flowers in the grass on the right are stitched using colour #182 in a size 5 perle cotton. I absolutely love how this is coming together. Thank you Denise for sharing your exquisite work!
Remember, photos are always welcome ladies!!! I’d love to see more painted NEEDLEPOINT canvases…
