crazy quilting, silk ribbon embroideryIn the past I have made frequent visits to our local thrift store in search of crocheted doilies.  I like to dye these and add them to my crazy quilting.  I construct my crazy quilt blocks very randomly and hence at times there are areas with several seams meeting – a good area to add a doily.  This one was dyed various values of soft sage green which worked well with my medium dusty crazy quilting palette.  I decided to weave a knitted ribbon through it then accented with silk ribbon roses with a bead center.  After I completed this I felt it needed just a bit more so added some pearl seed beads in small groups.

It is our Victoria Day weekend here in Canada so I’ll be taking Monday off blogging returning on Wednesday.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some nice weather.  Have a great weekend.
