A beautiful sample of EMBROIDERY today. Kerry has graciously shared this lovely creation.
This is a shawl/scarf Kerry has stitched for her Mom’s birthday in June. The background is a cotton/linen blend fabric and the shawl measures 17 x 57 inches. The wreaths are spaced 2.5″ apart. She has used size 12 perle cotton in colour #185 for the lavender wreaths. The circles are stitched in size 12 perle cotton, , a lovely spring green.
Kerry mentioned that she felt if she stitched a second shawl that she would use floss versus the size 12 as she felt it would lay better on the fabric. Thank you for sharing this beautiful gift Kerry! 🙂
Despite my best attempts sadly I am unable to guarantee my threads are colourfast. I did want to mention that when using my threads in projects that may be washed, please follow this procedure. Fill a small pot with water and boil. This pot should NOT be used for any other purpose. Pots are readily available in thrift stores. Unwind the skein and tie at both ends with inexpensive acrylic yarn. Add the skein to the boiled water and soak for approximately 5 minutes. Repeat the process until the water rinses clear. Dry your skein and use as desired. Hope this helps.
