Block 10 complete of my dark dusty. The purple fabric is an embroidered lace so I cheated a bit on this one. I just love my version of Cecile’s “bleuets” too – I’ll definitely be giving these a try again. It made quite a difference stitching the bullions loosely. I found when they were stitched normally they appeared somewhat flat. When I first started crazy quilting I didn’t use very wide venice laces but I’m changing my tune. The venice lace trim shown here was a bit wider than what I was used to and I liked the results. The butterfly is a lace applique further embellished with beads. Onto block 11 next!
